Lake Nakuru National Park, home to flamingos and tens of other bird species, will be your first stop on the safari. Explore the park and its beautiful scenery, such as the glistening lake and acacia forests. The park is home to various animals, including the critically endangered white rhino, Rothschild’s giraffe, and zebra. Lake Nakuru provides a peaceful setting for those interested in wildlife and birds.

Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day : 1 Nairobi – L. Nakuru National Park

    Pick up from Nairobi and then depart t for Lake Nakuru, with scenic views of Mt. Longonot and Lake Naivasha from afar on the main highway. Arrive at the park, have an early lunch at any of the lodges inside L. Nakuru National Park, and enjoy an afternoon game drive inside the park, a sanctuary for the endangered black and white rhinos.

    In the evening, check into Ziwa Bush Lodge for dinner and overnight.

  • Day : 2 Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park

    Wake up for breakfast, then depart Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara NR. Enjoy scenic views of Mt. Longonot and Lake Naivasha from afar on the main highway. Arrive at Enkorok Mara Camp for early check-in and early lunch. Around 2:00 p.m., drive out for game viewing in the vast Mara till dusk and return to the camp for freshening, dinner, and overnight.

  • Day : 3 Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park

    Get ready for a full day of exploring the reserve,s wildlife after breakfast. Scenery abounds in savannah grassland above gentle hills in this area. Thanks to its well-developed road and track network, the reserve is often considered Kenya's premier game park. Enjoy a picnic near the hippo pool while keeping an eye out for crocodiles and hippos. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

  • Day : 4 Masai Mara – Serengeti National Park via Isebania

    After an early breakfast, check out of the camp for your onward journey to Isebania Border Crossing. We’ll hand you over to our Tanzanian guide for the rest of the itinerary in the Magical Northern Circuit.

    Your driver guide will transfer you to Africa Safari Serengeti-Ikoma for check-in and lunch, followed by your maiden game drive in the wildlife-rich Serengeti.

    In the evening, just before sunset, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

  • Day : 5 Exploring the Serengeti

    Wake to an early breakfast and head out for a game drive just as the animal kingdom comes alive for the day’s activities. With the expertise of your guide, you will be treated to a spectacular game drive inside the Serengeti, and depending on the season, you may witness the Wildebeest calving season or the Great Migration.

    Have a picnic lunch out in the wild, and return to your camp in the evening for a freshening swim, dinner, and overnight.

  • Day : 6 Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater

    After breakfast, check-out drive south towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and into a game drive inside the crater floor. The crater's floor is bustling with wildlife activity, and you’ll love the diversity in this secluded area. In the surrounding “walls” of the crater, you can be treated to amazing views you cannot encounter anywhere else.

    At lunchtime, have a picnic lunch from your packed lunch boxes. In the late afternoon, drive out of the crater en route to Ol Duvai Camp for your overnight stay. You’ll have the opportunity to visit the pre-historic Ol Duvai Gorge, an integral archaeological site where the archeologists Leakey family discovered human fossils dating back over 2 million years.

  • Day : 7 Lake Manyara/ Tarangire National Park

    After breakfast, check out and depart for Lake Manyara NP or Tarangire NP, conveniently located just off the major highways. During the rainy season, Lake Manyara gets submerged and is closed off to the public, but there are numerous cultural activities around the park, such as Mto wa Mbu.

    You’ll have a great time exploring these two critical wildlife ecosystems, and with some luck and a bit of scouting, you can see the tree-climbing lions common here.

    Later in the day, drive to Arusha and check into Africa Safari Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay.

  • Day : 8 Arusha-Outbound

    This marks the last day of your East African safari. After breakfast, we’ll transfer you to JRO International Airport for your onward flight home or to your next destination. If you have a late flight, don't worry; we can organize several exciting activities to fill up the rest of your day. Our top picks are the Arusha-Arusha City Tour or the Arusha Coffee Farm Tour.
